Role: Procurement Lead - Highways

Salary: £60-75k + car (or car allowance) and benefits

Office Location: Coventry

Office: 2 days in office, or visits to suppliers/clients etc

The role(s) are with a leading corporation that is continuing to win numerous competitive bids, with a very healthy pipeline of roles.

Exciting remit to lead major procurement programmes across significant infrastructure, capital works on Highway (or Railway if preferred) projects. Perfect for a professional looking to lead from the front and own strategy, as well as rolling sleeves up and leading on negotiations and commercial excellence. Fantastic team and culture.

Ideally, they are looking for someone who can:

  1. Lead the strategic end-to-end procurement for either Highway or Rail
  2. Develop, implement and track performance/delivery of the PPP collaborating with the project commercial and delivery teams
  3. Compile the procurement schedule for all plant, materials, equipment and subcontract requirements for the project
  4. Responsible for mapping out the project supply base and lead strategic engagement with the supply chain across all expenditure categories
  5. Manage procurement of key materials, plant and equipment specific to the project through robust RFQ processes, negotiation, recommendation and contract/supply chain management
  6. Establish performance-led, long-term supplier relationships focusing on value for money, service & product quality and continuous improvement to drive competitive advantage

Who has the following:

  1. Experience working with highways/rail projects, as well as broader Civils/Construction/Infrastructure
  2. Full competency and management skill levels in the use and management of ERP systems
  3. Comprehensive experience and delivery of P&SCM for large-scale projects £50m+
  4. Ideally MCIPS / Degree Qualified, or breadth and depth of work experience equivalent to qualification
