I joined 1st Executive in 2013 as a senior consultant after 7 years corporate and business development experience with two large global recruiters. The hiring process was exceptionally comprehensive and  I was given tangible examples of how other people had progressed through the business, a clear two-year plan for my role and how it would affect the business and complete transparency on KPIs and how they would be measured.

The comprehensive support from a training and development perspective allowed me to progress rapidly to Manager of the Interim Practice and then Director and I am now part of the senior leadership team with a seat on the board. With that promotion came my membership of a national peer to peer learning group – a key indicator of the importance the leadership team puts on continuing professional development.

There is a clear vision from the top on the direction of the company – and the way that 1st Executive should be represented in the market. However, that doesn’t preclude your opportunity to influence or to be entrepreneurial. The culture here is inclusive and transparent and everyone has a part to play – it’s a flat management structure and new ideas are always welcomed. What’s more, decisions are made quickly – there is a real lack of prevarication and for me, having come from an environment that had multi layers of bureaucracy, that sea change of culture was a welcome one!
