Procurement Manager - £55,000 - Preston

As the Procurement Manager you will deliver indirect purchasing and procurement strategies into the MRO / Production Support categories. This position will engage with stakeholders of all levels to develop, communicate and delvier strategy for the category. This position is hybrid and can be based from either Preston, Glasgow or Frimley.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Site and Supplier Engagement: Travel between UK sites and suppliers, engaging with various stakeholders to meet business requirements.

  • Indirect Procurement Strategy: Implement the Indirect Procurement strategy and capabilities, focusing on the PPE, workwear, laundry, and calibration sub-categories of MRO/Production Support.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with business unit management, Procurement Managers, and professionals across the organization to develop, communicate, and execute the strategy for the production support category.

  • Best Practices and Innovation: Provide best practice capabilities and support the development of the category strategy to ensure procurement excellence, with a focus on innovative solutions for contract delivery.

  • Contract Management: Manage new and existing supplier contracts, including sourcing, negotiating, and contracting business requirements in a professional and efficient manner.

  • ESG Roadmap Development: Develop an ESG roadmap within the assigned categories, establishing and achieving agreed objectives.

Your Skills and Experiences:

Essential:

  • Experience in category management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of business and purchasing and procurement approaches, techniques, and processes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Supplier management experience.
  • Proficiency in contract negotiation.

Desirable:

  • Experience in production support/MRO category management.
  • Project management skills.
  • CIPS qualification or working towards it.
