Senior Category Buyer - £56K - Leicestershire

As the Senior Category Buyer, you will be joining the global purchasing and procurement team, where you will be purchasing direct commodities for your set category. This position will have a blend of tactical and strategic procurement.

You will design, develop, and implement category strategies and sourcing initiatives with the aim of:

• Contributing to the company's sustained growth and success
• Lowering BOM and development costs
• Upholding and enhancing current high-quality standards
• Minimizing development lead times and finding efficiencies in the production process
• Identifying and implementing new market technologies to improve the product lineup
• Proactively managing risks and opportunities within the supply chain

You will collaborate with the wider product, design and Quality Control (QC) teams and champion the development of the performance of the existing supply base.

Person Requirements:

Essential:

• Experience within a Purchasing and Procurement environment
• Proficient in Microsoft packages including Excel, Word, Outlook
• Effective organsiational skills and time management
• Ability to work under pressure
• Commuateble distance to Leicestershire (Hybrid basis)

Desirable:

• Degree in Business or Engineering related field
• Experience in an automotive / manufacturing environment
• Experience purchasing powertrain or chasis commodities
• Leadership experience
