Senior Procurement Manager - £80K - London

Client

My client is a FTSE 250 company undergoing a Procurement and Supplier Management transformation. If you are a Senior Procurement Manager with experience in delivering innovative Procurement and Supplier Management frameworks, this is an ideal opportunity for you!

Role

As the Senior Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end ownership of commercial and sourcing strategy. You will lead business-critical Purchasing and Procurement projects for the assigned category, as well as Supplier Management activities, and act as an internal business partner to key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial and sourcing strategy for the category.
  • Create clear and compelling category plans that establish a fit-for-purpose supply chain, balancing cost, quality, and risk considerations.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to implement business change.
  • Lead negotiations with key suppliers and senior stakeholders.
  • Manage Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities.

Experience

Essential:

  • An experienced Procurement professional, or comparable relevant commercial experience, with a proven track record of creating and executing compelling end-to-end category plans.
  • Supplier Relationship Management expereince
  • Experience negotiating with third parties, with an understanding of contract law.
  • Project management experience.
  • Stakeholder management experience, demonstrating the ability to influence, constructively challenge, and confidently engage with Senior Managers, explaining complex ideas in a simple way.
  • Degree & MCIPS qualified.

Desirable:

  • Indirect category experience, ideally with exposure to logistics, distribution, or warehousing.
  • Experience in procurement, specifically within indirect strategic sourcing.
  • Strong commercial experience with the ability to influence decision-making at the managerial level.
  • Contract management experience in a complex commercial construct.
  • Strategic sourcing experience.
  • Track record in commercial procurement.
  • Experience in defining and implementing strategic change within an organization, especially at the senior or director level.
  • Commutable distance to London.
