We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Logistics Procurement professional to join a diverse global team. This role is critical for optimizing logistics operations and sourcing strategies across proincipally domestic but also international supply chains. You must have in-depth knowledge of logistics at a granular level, combined with strong commercial acumen to drive cost efficiencies and enhance service quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead procurement strategies for logistics services, including transportation (air, sea, land) across US and International markets
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure alignment with service-level agreements (SLAs) and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, finance, and supply chain) to support business objectives and drive cost savings.
- Engage with c suite stakeholders
- Analyze market trends and logistics cost drivers to ensure competitive rates and innovative solutions. Horizon scanning and attending relevant conferences/ industry events
- Conduct tendering and supplier selection processes, ensuring strategic alignment with business goals.
- Monitor and optimize performance of logistics providers, ensuring timely delivery and service quality.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline logistics processes and improve supplier performance.
- Support risk management strategies, identifying alternative suppliers and contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in logistics procurement, ideally within a global/ mulit cultural business environment.
- Deep understanding of logistics operations (freight forwarding, transportation, distribution).
- Ideally experience of the Chinese market including customs requirements
- Proven ability to negotiate complex contracts and manage supplier relationships.
- Strong analytical skills to assess cost structures and identify efficiency opportunities.
- Commercial aptitude, with a track record of delivering significant cost savings.
- Familiarity with logistics technology and tools
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment, with a preference for candidates based on the East Coast.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and juggle mulitple projects
- Happy to undertake domestic and international travel
